Misty Brae Farm offers private and group riding lessons in NoVA for all ages and experience levels. Our riding instructors have a wide background of experience and knowledge in  jumpers, hunters, eventing, and dressage. If you are looking for riding lessons in VA, come join us and learn to ride in a fun and safe environment at Misty Brae Farm. Misty Brae Farm
Fall Semester
September 5, 2009 – January 30, 2010
20 weeks

(There will be no lessons for two weeks during this semester.
There will be no lessons December 25, 2009 – January 1, 2010.
The second week off will be announced at a later date.)

Evaluation or Introductory lesson: $75

Each new student must do an evaluation/ introductory lesson.

Pay as you go rates:

One hour private: $80
Half hour private: $60
One hour group: $60
One hour lead line group: $50

practice rides: $25 (riders must maintain weekly lesson schedule)   Practice rides are available Monday -Friday to approved Misty Brae Farm students only.  Please call for availability
 

Ship In lessons:  If you are riding your own horse you can deduct $15 from the lesson fee.
Payment is due at the beginning of each lesson.

Single Payment Discount: Payment is due at the beginning of the semester. Due September 5, 2009

One hour private: $65 x 20 = $1,300
Half hour private: $50 x 20 = $1,000
One hour group: $50 x 20 = $1,000
One hour lead line group: $45 x 20 = $900

Two payment option: Payment is due September 5 and November 5, 2009

One hour private: $67 x 20 = $1,340 ($670 x 2 payments)
Half hour private: $52 x 20 = $1,040 ($520 x 2 payments)
One hour group: $52 x 20 = $1,040 ($520 x 2 payments)
One hour lead line group: $46 x $20 = $920 ($460 x 2 payments)

Three payment option: Payment is due September 5, November 5, and December 5, 2009

One hour private: $70 x 20 = $1,400 ($467 x 3 payments)
Half hour private: $53 x 20 = $1,060 ($354 x 3 payments)
One hour group: $53 x 20 = $1,060 ($354 x 3 payments)
One hour lead line group: $47 x 20 = $940 ($314 x 3 payments)

Payment Plan and Policy:
Payment plan of either 2 or 3 payments for the semester is available. In using the payment option you are contracting for the semester of lessons. All payment plans contracted for the semester must be secured with a credit card and you are under contract to make all payments. Please remember there are no refunds We do offer make up lessons during the semester. Contact your instructor to schedule your make ups. Please call if you have questions. 703-403-6422.

We require 24 hr. notice before any missed lessons. Make up lessons are available when proper notice is given during the current semester. If you are ill please call and schedule a make up lesson. Misty Brae Farm will make every effort to accomodate your make up lesson needs, However, we do not provide refunds or credits for missed lessons. All services such as lessons taken or training provided at Misty Brae Farm are to be paid to Misty Brae Farm. Misty Brae Farm does not allow outside trainers or independent instruction on the premises on your horse or otherwise.

Horse Show Prices:

Horse shows are billed as a group lesson fee + any shipping/school horse use fees

Horse show entry fees are paid directly to the show.

In House show fees:

$40 + entry fees


Local shows: for group of riders per horse.

$80 + entry fees

(If riding your own horse $60 + entry fees)

If individual shipping is needed $50 + mileage.  Individual shipping is made available only when possilbe for Misty Brae to do so.


Rated shows: for group of riders per horse.

$80 per day plus shipping + entry fees

(If riding your own horse $50 per day plus shipping and entry fees)

If individual shipping is needed $50 + mileage.

There are no refunds for missed lessons on block payments, make up lessons must be scheduled.

We require 24hr notice for cancellation of any scheduled lessons.


Policies and Rules


For safety reasons, Parents are responsible for the supervision of any minor children before and after their lesson times. It is the Parents responsiblity to supervise all minor children when not participating in lessons while they are here at Misty Brae Farm. Please do not allow your children to chase after, grab, or in any way play with my dogs.

Students or guests with displaying poor sportsmanship or very rude behavior will be excused from their lesson or the property with no refund. We wish to maintain a polite and courteous atmosphere.

All services such as lessons taken or training provided at Misty Brae Farm are to be paid to Misty Brae Farm. Misty Brae Farm does not allow any outside trainers or independent instruction on the premises.

WARNING: Liability actions prohibited except as provided in 3.1-796.133, an equine activity sponsor or an equine professional shall not be liable for an injury to or death of a participant engaged in an equine activity.

The Client represents and acknowledges that the care, use, training and riding of a horse is inherently difficult and dangerous and involves substantial risk both to individuals, their property and their animals, including, but not limited to 1) the propensity of equines to behave in dangerous ways which may result in injury; 2) the inability to predict an equine’s reaction to sounds, movements, objects, persons, or animals; and 3) hazards of surface or subsurface conditions, both known and unknown. Therefore, the client agrees to assume all risks, direct or indirect, associated with the maintenance, care, use, training, or riding of any horse or of any equestrian facility involved in the training of the client or their horse(s).

The Client agrees to assume all liability and to indemnify and hold harmless Misty Brae for any and all injury, losses, or damages (including expenses, claims, actions or liabilities including attorneys fees) related to any person, animal , or property, to the persons or property of the Client or Misty Brae, their guests, agents or invitees or any other person or their property, including but not limited to the horse being trained or ridden by or for the Client or other horses and pets, which arises from, is connected with, or is in any manner related to or caused, directly or indirectly, by any action or omissions of Misty Brae, Client, their guest’s, agents’, or invitees’ training, handling, care, or use of the facilities or riding of any horse or other activity.
