General Information

  • Misty Brae Farm offers private and group riding lessons in Northern Virginia for all ages and experience levels.
  • If you are looking for riding lessons in VA, come join us and learn to ride in a fun and safe environment at Misty Brae Farm.
  • Our riding instructors have a wide background of experience and knowledge in jumpers, hunters, eventing, and dressage.
  • Lessons are available by appointment.
  • We will do our best to accommodate your lesson and scheduling needs.

  • 6:15 PM - Advanced Intermediate: Walk, Trot, Canter, Jump 

Tuesday:

  • 5:00 PM - Advanced Beginner: Walk, Trot
  • 6:00 PM - Advanced: Walk, Trot, Canter, Jump 2’-2’6”

Wednesday:

  • 5:00 PM - Advanced Intermediate: Walk, Trot, Canter, Jump 18”
  • 6:15 PM - TBD

Thursday:

  • 5:00 PM - Beginner: Walk, Trot
  • 6:00 PM - Advanced: Walk, Trot, Canter, Jump 2’-4'

No Classes on Friday

Saturday:

  • 10:00 AM - Beginner: Walk, Trot
  • 11:00 AM - Advanced: Walk, Trot, Canter, Jump 18”

Sunday:

  • 10:15 AM - Advanced: Walk, Trot, Canter, Jump -3’
  • 12:00 PM - Intermediate: Walk, Trot, Beginning Canter
  • 1:00 PM - Beginner: Walk, Trot
  • 2:00 PM - Beginner: Walk, Trot

Lesson Levels Available

Beginner:
Working at the walk and trot on position and control
 
Advanced Beginner:
Continuing to improve skills at the walk and trot starting to canter
 
Intermediate:
Improving skills at the canter and starting to jump.
 
Advanced Intermediate:
Working on improving flatwork, improving jumping skills, and course work.
Rider has developed a secure, independent seat, and has increased control and confidence.
 
Advanced:
Moving beyond mechanics and becoming a more feeling rider able to better influence a horse at various stages of training.

NEW STUDENTS:
  • All new students MUST contact Tori Hutcheson BEFORE signing up online
  • All new students MUST complete an evaluation lesson so a trainer can determine the appropriate class
  • Do not register for a class prior to speaking with a trainer and determining the best fit
